Summary

Description
English: Reconstruction of historian Carlo Malagola of an alleged Standard used by military militias of the Republic. The source is a 1465 receipt for the sell of "taffeta" (a renaissance clothing fiber) for its realization, Malagola suggested it was composed of three bands of "Giallo, Biancho, e alesandrino" (yellow, white and alesandrino color) with presumably the symbol of the Republic painted on the middle white band.[5][6][7][8] Malagola interpreted the colour alesandrino as purplish red colour; this interpretation has been challanged and it is now considered obsolete.
