English: Where the San Gabriel River flows from the mountainous en:Angeles National Forest to the urbanized en:San Gabriel Valley, a 39-acre site has been protected for conservation and recreation purposes. Thanks to the en:Trust for Public Land and the en:Watershed Conservation Authority, a joint powers authority between en:Los Angeles County Flood Control District and the San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Authority, this site will play an important role in the ever-growing network of protected open spaces and recreation amenities along the 75-mile San Gabriel River. Congresswoman en:Hilda Solis, a long-time supporter of efforts to protect and enhance the San Gabriel River, joined dozens of river stakeholders and agency representatives to celebrate this acquisition and dedicate the site.
