English: SURYA NARAYAN TEMPLE

In INDIA, Surya Means SUN, Sanskrit, Hindi languages and Narayan Means Hindu Lord Vishnu.The Temple is constructed nearby 17th Century by Maharaja Govindrao Gaekwar, who was the ruler(king) of Baroda State. The temple was built in a way that whenever Sun rises, its rays enters the Temple. In the compound of temple is one Huge Elephant which was made up of Stone. The temple was made up with Stones.

SURYA NARAYAN TEMPLE is situated nearby General Post Office (GPO), Raopura, Vadodara -390001.

After sometimes, the temple was erected by Raoji Aapaji, Deewan of Baroda State, so this area’s name is Raopura Area.

Also there is beautiful garden surrounding Temple, which makes it more beautiful.
