Description Photograph of SS Bodegraven [nl; de], a Dutch ship that was launched in 1929 and sunk in 1944 during World War II. The ship is noted as the very last to leave IJmuiden harbor in 1940 before the Dutch harbors were closed by invading German armies. It carried 74 Kindertransport children and about 200 other refugees to Great Britain. The ship was strafed by German warplanes during its departure.

The date of the photograph isn't known, but predates the 1944 sinking of the ship during World War II.
