Summary

Description
English: Dipadih is a village and archaeological site in north Chhattisgarh. Ruins of many groups of Hindu and Jain temples are scattered here over about 50 square kilometers. These range from the 8th to 13th-century, with occasional find of Gupta and post-Gupta era artwork.

In Dipadih, near the Rani Talab (Queen Reservoir) is a vast field of scattered ruins. At least seven temple foundations can be traced here. Midst these are sections of the destroyed temples including broken pillars, kama-maithuna scenes, jalahari, gavakshas, Nandi, Shiva linga, Vishnu icons, other Hindu gods and goddesses. Many of these are defaced, beheaded or parts of the artwork chopped off. Some sections also show signs of erosion.

This site and nearby mounds are protected by the Department of Archaeology and Culture of the Chhattisgarh state government.
