Deutsch: Vorderseite: RWMS C-VΔKRImI [Romanus et Eudocia. Teilweise verwildert]. Büste der Eudokia (r.) und des Romanus IV. (l.) mit Stola (loros), beide mit Krone in der Vorderansicht. Zwischen ihnen ein langes Stabkreuz auf einem Globus.

Rückseite: ΘKE - ROHΘ. Büste der heiligen Jungfrau Maria in der Vorderansicht, die vor sich die kleiner Büste des Christuskindes mit Nimbus hält. Beiderseits MHP (ligiert) - ΘV.

Kommentar: Romanus IV. heiratete Eudocia und wurde am 1. Januar 1068 Kaiser. Er unterlag den Seldschuken am 19. August 1071 in der berühmten Schlacht bei Manzikert, den den Verlust des östlichen Kleinansien bedeutete. Obwohl er bereits auf die Nachricht von der Niederlage hin am Hofe abgesetzt wurde, entsagte er erst im Frühling 1072 nach seiner Freilassung aus der Gefangenschaft dem Thron und starb am 4. August 1072 an den Folgen der auf Befehl des Psellus erlittenen Mißhandlungen.
