Summary

Description
English: Push-pull train Leixlip
A CIE push-pull set (6111/202) on arrival at Leixlip with the 17.00 Maynooth – Dublin Connolly. The station, on the Dublin – Sligo line, closed in 1947 and reopened in 1981 with the start of a new commuter service between Dublin and Maynooth.

The line (single in this photograph) was doubled in 2001 and the station rebuilt as shown in N9936 : Leixlip (Louisa Bridge) Railway Station (October 2008). Now called “Leixlip Louisa Bridge” to distinguish it from the nearby Leixlip (Confey).

N9936 : Train beside Royal Canal Leixlip (July 1982) and N9936 : Royal Canal Leixlip Aqueduct (January 2009) show the line and Royal Canal (upper left)l in their respective settings.
