Description Some design elements of both the early proposals for the Torpedo and the final design for the "48" appear in this cover illustration of the Carioca from Dec. 1955 Car Life magazine. Tucker was quoted in the article: "I never gave up. I never will!". Preston Tucker died a year later (12/26/56).
