Summary

Description
English: Pooley Bridge, Barton This the eastern (Barton) side. A parapet stone is inscribed "JS & IR 1764". Built of squared blocks of red and calciferous sandstone. The piers are carried up to form much-needed pedestrian refuges as the roadway, an A-road, is very narrow with no footways. Grade II listed. This bridge was washed away during Storm Desmond on 6th December 2015.
