Summary
| Description |
English: Mr Salim Choheili and Tarmida Sam Zahrooni check Mandaean manuscripts in order to photograph them. In the past, Mandaean priests usually used to copy the manuscripts by hand; however this artwork is time-consuming, and has almost disappeared. Hand copying a sacred manuscript involves much preparation and is considered a sacred activity, bringing good luck and blessing in the Mandaean tradition. There are concerns about preserving Mandaean written literature.
