English: This lighthouse was built by British in 1900 and became fully functional in 1904. Lights were used to aid mariners since the 7th century at Mahabalipuram which was a major port during the reign of the Pallavas. മലയാളം: ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാർ 1900-ൽ മഹാബലിപുരത്ത് നിർമിച്ച വിളക്കുമാടം. 7-ആം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ പല്ലവന്മാരുടെ കീഴിൽ മഹാബലിപുരം തിരക്കുള്ള തുറമുഖനഗരമായിരുന്നു. അക്കാലത്തും പാറയ്ക്കു മുകളിൽ തീ കൂട്ടിയും മറ്റും ഇവിടെ നാവികരെ സഹായിക്കുന്ന ദീപങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നുവത്രേ. |
