Cranberry Island Lighthouse is located 2.7 km (1.7 miles) offshore.
In 1815, a 18.3 meter (60ft) octagonal wooden tower with red and white bands was built on the island. In 1883 it was replace with a white, square wooden tower attached to a dwelling. A steel skeleton tower (moved to Jeddore Rock) replaced the lighthouse in 1971 until the present tower was built in 1978.
Location: Southern end of Cranberry Island, Canso Harbour, Cape Breton.
Tower Height: 14.6 meters (48ft)
Light Height: 16.76 meters (55ft) above water level
