Description
English: Landfill Site at Beddingham from Itford Hill The area in the foreground used to be Asham Quarry. Asham House stood nearby which was once the holiday home of the writer Virginia Wolfe (1882-1941)

In 1979 the quarry was converted into the Beddingham Landfill Site and in 1994 Asham House was demolished. The landful site is run by East Sussex County Council (ESCC)and operated by Viridor Waste Management. According to the ESCC Website the site was due to be full by 2008 - but at the time the photograph was taken the site was still operating.

The town on the horizon is Lewes with Ranscombe Hill to the right. The River Ouse can also be seen.
