Italiano: Placenta umana pochi minuti dopo il parto. Si può osservare il lato fetale con il cordone ombelicale sulla destra. Il lato opposto non visibile nell'immagine è connesso alla parete uterina. La sostanza bianca nella parte inferiore costituisce un residuo del sacco amniotico.
Deutsch: Menschliche Plazenta nur wenige Minuten nach der Geburt. Die sichtbare Seite mit der Nabelschnur oben rechts zeigt zum Fetus.
English: Human placenta shown a few minutes after birth. The side shown faces the baby with the umbilical cord top right. The unseen side connects to the uterine wall. The white fringe surrounding the bottom is the remnants of the amniotic sac.
