Summary

Author
Hermann Fictuld
Description
English: Title page of Der Längst gewünschte und versprochene chymisch-philosophische Probier-Stein, auf welchem so wohl der wahrhafften hermetischen Adeptorum als der verführischen und betriegerischen Sophisten Schrifften sind probirt und nach deren Werth dargestellt worden, beschrieben in zweyen Classen, Frankfurt and Leipzig: Veraci Orientali Wahrheit and Ernst Lugenfeind, 1753.

A quite unusual and late annotated bibliography of alchemical writings. It is unique in that Fictuld separates the sheep and the goats, including separate volumes treating true adepts and “sophists” (charlatans).

This is the second, preferable edition; the first (1740) and third (1784) treat only the adepts.
