Summary

Description
English: Original 1872 publication of "I Am Coming, Lord" (first line "I hear Thy welcome voice"). This gospel song, written and composed in Iowa by Lewis Hartsough, continues to appear in some English-language hymnals. Virtually since its translation into Welsh by Ieuan Gwyllt (John Roberts) during the 1870s the song has experienced widespread popularity in Wales, so much so that many mistakenly believe it to be an indigenous Welsh hymn. In Welsh it is commonly known as GWAHODDIAD (Welsh for "invitation").
