"Az alsóeőri Farkas családnak az egyik ága a Vas vármegyei Kancsócon (Felsőszentbenedek) volt birtokos a 17- században. 1327. július 1-jén magyar nemességet I. Károly magyar királytól, majd 1582. február 18-án Rudolf magyar királytól földbirtokadományt Alsó- és Felsőeőrre szerzett meg. A Kancsócon (Felsőszentbenedek) lakó ága az alsóeőri Farkas családnak 1690. április 2-án családi címeres-levelet szerzett I. Lipót magyar királytól. Farkas János fiától, alsóeőri Farkas Pétertől származik a későbbi boldogfai Farkas család, amely az "alsóeőri" nemesi előnevet teljesen hanyagolva, királyi földbirtokadomány után (1716. március 22.) a "boldogfai" nemesi előnevet viselte, holott a család az adományok révén jogosult volt az "eőri és boldogfai" előnevek használatára is. A boldogfai Farkas család Vas vármegyéből Zala vármegyébe a 17. század második felében került át; boldogfai Farkas Péter, István és János, Farkas Mihály fiai, alsóeőri Farkas Péter unokái szerezték meg a boldogfai birtokadományt 1716-ban III. Károly magyar királytól."
