Chama macerophylla Gmelin, 1791 - exterior of right valve of a beachworn leafy jewelbox, 1.2 cm across at its widest.

Family Chamidae (Cretaceous to Holocene) - the jewelboxes (a.k.a. rock oysters) are epifaunal, filter-feeding, hard substrate-encrusters in shallow-water, tropical to temperate marine settings.
