Nederlands: Schaduwfiguur. Wayang perjuangan heeft de na-oorlogse politieke verwikkelingen en de Indonesische vrijheidsstrijd tot onderwerp. Kyai Maja was de geestelijk leider van opstand en vertegenwoordigde de Oelama's (Ulama), de islamitische geestelijke leiders. Hij kreeg een breuk met Prins Diponegoro toen diens aristocratische bondgenoten teveel op wereldlijke macht belust bleken. In 1828 gaf hij zich over aan de Nederlanders. (Ricklefs, 2008).
