Summary

Description
English: British Sugar at Bury St Edmunds The 'spires' - the storage silos capable of holding up to 70,000 tonnes of crystal sugar converted from beet - of the towns industrial landmark are at least, if not more imposing than their ecclesiastical, and very singular counterpart at the nearby cathedral. The plumes of steam rising from the plant indicate that production is in full swing.
