| Purpose of use |
This unsurfaced road, over fragile permafrost, is supposed to have hundreds of trips by huge 200 tonne ultra-large dump trucks, per day, for the next several decades. This photo helps show just how vulnerable the road, and the surrounding shoulders, would be, to environmental damage. |
| Replaceable? |
Essentially unreplaceable. A wikimedia volunteer would not be allowed on Baffinland property, even if they could travel to the minesite. Trying to travel to the minesite would be extremely expensive. |
