Italiano: L’apriscatole “Star” in acciaio stampato venne brevettato nel 1920 da Edwin Anderson, che riprese il principio della rotella tagliente di William Lyman aggiungendovi una seconda rotella dentata, collegata a una farfalla. La pressione viene perciò esercitata in orizzontale (e non in verticale come in tutti i precedenti apparecchi), tagliando il bordo esterno della lattina sotto la giuntura del coperchio. Per la sua efficacia e funzionalità è ancora oggi in produzione e numerose furono le sue varianti e imitazioni, come il “Credo 5” di produzione inglese.
