Description
English: Avenue H Station House. 802 East 16th Street (1906). One of a few wood frame structures that are part of the subway system, this one-story shingled cottage was built as a sales office for the developer of the nearby Fiske Terrace, Thomas Benton Ackerman. It served this purpose for one year and became a station on the Brooklyn, Flatbush & Coney Island Railroad in 1907, now running below grade and called the Brighton Line. Like many houses built in the area during the early 20th century, it has a flared and hipped roof, as well as a wraparound porch.
