Description
English: A manuscript map surveyed during the capture of Portobelo in November 1739 by Admiral Edward Vernon, as a part of the War of Jenkins' Ear.
Includes a decorative title and a key cartouche. Includes a key. Includes the town, harbour, castles, fortifications and shoals. Oriented with North towards left. Paper bears a set of watermarks of a shield with a fleur-de-li surmounted with a crown and letters "WR" underneath, and Roman numerical: "IV". Relief shown pictorially and with soundings.
