Summary

Description 330-PSA-23-62 (USN 711005): Composite I Payload Configuration. Satellites in the outlined nosecone of a Thor-Able Star Rocket are, clockwise from top, Solar Radiation IV, Injun II, Drumlike Surcal I, Army Corps of Engineers Ranging and Calibration Satellite, and Lofti II. Remaining attached to the second stage of the rocket, Surcal will convert the empty rocket body into a useful satellite. Photograph released January 24, 1962. (9/29/2015).
